A bright, new and fun adrenaline rush is taking the UK by storm. The new exciting ride is called Orbing. It is also often known as Zorbing and Sphereing. Orbing involves rolling down a steep hill on a gigantic inflatable ball. Either you are splashing into the ball or literally flipping upside down.
Orbing involves the use of a gigantic inflatable ball, inside the ball there is another inflatable ball. The two balls are connected by hundreds of different strings that hold them together. You are inside the Orb or ball and then you are taken down a steep hill. There is often a course setting for the ball to follow, which has twists and turns to provide even more action to the Orb. When you orbit, you can reach speeds of up to 30 mph while moving and falling inside.
Orbing has four different variations for your enjoyment including: Harness, Aqua, Eclipse, and Air Orbing. Harness Orbing involves being tied to the interior of the orb. Your hands and feet are securely attached to the orb. When you go down the hill, you literally turn upside down. In Aqua Orbing a bucket of soapy water is placed inside the orb. While you are inside the orb, you pin and splash while you are not secured to the orb. The orb normally rolls downhill as you slide on the inner ball. Eclipse Orbing is similar to the Orbing harness, however instead of being able to see where you are going it is completely dark. In Eclipse Orbing, the orb is covered with a cloth that makes the inside of the orb completely black. Wheels downhill with no idea of direction. The last type of Orbing is Air Orbing. Air Orbing is similar to the other types of Orbing in that it uses a ball or an orb. However, it is nothing like the other Orbing methods, as it doesn’t actually roll at all. In this case, the orb is placed in a wind tunnel. The wind tunnel reaches speeds of up to 150 mph. The orb launches into the air and floats while you can flip, twist, and spin inside the orb. A really fun flight.
In the UK there are many places to go to Orbing spanning the whole of the UK. There are 15 places to go to Harness orbing and at least 6 places to go to aqua orbing. However, aquatic orbiting and harness orbiting require the same equipment, so there could actually be more locations. If you want to travel by air, there is only one place in the UK in Buckinghamshire.
A very common question that is asked when we tell people about Orbing is, is it safe? Yes, it is actually very safe. The giant orb is inflatable with many protective layers. You are surrounded by air all the time, which makes it safe. In fact, since one ball is inside the other with a layer of air in between, this works like a shock absorber and the rider does not normally feel any danger. The greatest danger in Orbing is being outside or around the orb. Since it is a fairly large ball, it can easily knock you over if the orb hits you.
If you’re looking for a fun new adrenaline ride, consider Orbing. There are many positive reviews about Orbing and his adrenaline rush. Finally, it is offered at a reasonable price considering the costs of other adrenaline adventures.
