In an ICU, waves on the screen of an ECG monitor indicate that the patient’s heart is beating. They will never become an insignificant straight line unless the patient is dead. In another example, you see that the nodes and anti-nodes together form a wave, and neither of them can define itself as a wave. Similarly, the ups and downs in our life make us feel alive, and neither of these two states by itself should be considered life. So why don’t we realize this fact sometimes? Why are we stupid enough to sometimes forget what our experience has taught us?
Generally, when a person is in his prime; He does not bother to delve into these realities and takes them as the beginning of his new life. You might even forget what modesty means. Otherwise (when he is at his worst), the same person will feel like a goat when surrounded by hungry lions. No form of survival is expected.
The ups and downs are inevitable; we cannot help them. But at least we can control our thoughts when we encounter either of these two extremes. Never take it as an easy task. All of our wisdom is required to react in the most reasonable way in any case. Well, the question is what should we do. What I think is that we have to pay every time we smile; in the same way, we will be rewarded for every tear we shed. Being moderate, in both situations, whether we are celebrating our success or lamenting our defeat, is the best way to react.
We always need to keep two senses alive: optimism and fear. The firefly of optimism will prevent us from getting lost in the dark valley of pessimism on our way. On the other hand, the chemical of fear will remove any scandalous stains of vanity as long as it is found on the dress of our gratitude. Wearing both items at all times ensures the security of our peace of mind.
Remember, there would be nothing to remember in an imaginative-even life; just as there is no notable point on a straight line. The importance of ups and downs in our life is out of the question. However, we need to rehearse some of the most appropriate reactions to prepare ourselves to handle all kinds of circumstances.
