Learning how to get rid of acid reflux is a tremendous challenge for countless people, and many never succeed. As a result, they were sentenced to a lifetime of taking medications that, for the most part, only treat the symptoms, not the underlying cause. I am going to share my story with you about how I came across a home remedy that helped me get rid of acid reflux permanently.
In 1991, I began to experience a very uncomfortable bloated sensation in my stomach area. At first I thought it was some kind of food related digestive problem. The first thing I tried was adding fiber to my diet, with over-the-counter products like metamucil, to help my digestion.
I was desperate and wanted to know how to get rid of acid reflux. After doing some research, I started avoiding caffeine, spicy foods, and anything else I thought was a contributing factor. That didn’t help, the swelling and fullness gradually got worse, and I reluctantly went to see a doctor. At that initial visit, I was prescribed medication to help reduce the acid in my stomach area.
I will not mention the name of those pills, what I will say is that those purple pills were very expensive and I did not have health insurance at the time. Which meant that I could only afford to buy a few pills at a time. Medications gave me relief, when I could get them.
During my visits to the doctor, I had an upper GI endoscope procedure (to look at the esophagus and stomach area) and that’s when I was informed, and was shown through imaging of the upper GI tract, that I had an ulcerated area. Until that time, I had never associated ulcers with my acid reflux condition. Still, the only real relief I got was when I took the purple pills.
The moment I learned how to get rid of acid reflux.
A few years later, in 1994, my blood pressure had started to be consistently high. To avoid being put on prescription drugs to control my blood pressure, I visited a herbal pharmacy looking for a supplement that could help control my blood pressure.
That was the moment when I literally stumbled upon a cure for my acid reflux. As I was browsing the pharmacy, I noticed a flyer on a screen that boldly said these life-changing words.
CABBAGE HEALS ULCERS
The flyer listed simple, detailed instructions to follow for two weeks and said it would cure my ulcers. I was instructed to eat one slice of steamed cabbage a day with one of my meals for only two weeks. I was determined to be open-minded about an acid reflux cure, so I followed the instructions to the letter. And to my surprise and delight, all my symptoms disappeared after two weeks.
That was 21 years ago and I am so grateful to have received help. Since then, I have come to realize that there are other home remedies for acid reflux that can provide a permanent cure for acid reflux and heartburn.
If you’re under a doctor’s care, that’s good. However, you owe it to your long-term health and family to exercise due diligence by educating yourself on the options available on how to get rid of acid reflux permanently.
