Of the women who have had liposuction at some point in their lives, there is a portion that faces a very common problem. If you have had this procedure in the past, you may be wondering how it might affect you during pregnancy. Since the body is sure to change drastically during pregnancy, many women wonder what will happen to their liposuction results if they become pregnant afterwards. Fortunately, there is really nothing to worry about. Having a baby after a liposuction procedure is quite common and does not carry any risks.
Although there are no potential risks, there are some important things to keep in mind. If you had liposuction in the abdomen area, you may consider that you will have a really cute baby bump at all times. When liposuction was done here, a lot of the fat cells in the abdomen area were removed. Thus, it makes it much easier for your tummy to return to its normal shape after the baby is born. That means you can look cute throughout your pregnancy because the fat probably won’t accumulate in excess here, and you can recover much faster.
However, there is something to consider when it comes to liposuction and pregnancy. Although you may not gain excess weight in the abdomen, it is quite possible that it appears and accumulates in other areas of the body, such as the buttocks or thighs. You may even find that fat is deposited in unusual areas, such as your hands and feet. This may not be desirable, but it is a common problem for women who become pregnant after liposuction.
The female body is destined and predisposed to gain weight during pregnancy. This is good for the baby throughout the pregnancy and good for natural things like breastfeeding after the baby is born. It is also biologically useful as caring for a newborn requires a lot from a woman and therefore fat storage helps with this. Although you will surely gain weight and you should during pregnancy, do not get carried away by the madness. You’ll eat more for sure, but be smart about it. Talk to your doctor and understand what a healthy weight range is so you can be smart about what you put in your mouth during pregnancy.
If you have considered liposuction to get your body in good shape, then it may be wise to wait until after you have gone through the pregnancy and have your children. It can be much more beneficial to have lipo after the baby is born. Once your body has recovered from pregnancy and childbirth, it may be the ideal time to have liposuction. A very common procedure that happens now is for women to request a tummy tuck at the same time they have a C-section scheduled. This is best if you are sure that you are done having children and know that your family is complete. So while pre-pregnancy liposuction won’t cause any harm or risk, it may be best to wait until you’re done having children.
