So many millions of people have yet to discover it. What do they not understand about network marketing? It doesn’t have to be a hot market and upsetting family and friends. It doesn’t have to be about bringing people to meetings. It doesn’t have to be about rah-rah conventions and people getting nervous. Sure, there are those who do, but there are also those who capitalize on internet marketing and have a good business and compensation model that can be duplicated with consistent teamwork and marketing training. They can be, and are, true private business deals.
Take a look at your local real estate offices. There is one major broker, or sometimes several, who have hired agents to go out and get property listings, pay for the advertising of those listings, and hopefully sell those properties. When a property is sold, the broker who hired the agent gets a percentage of the sale price. If the broker has a large number of agents in his office and those agents are successful, the broker earns a good income from the efforts and expenses of his agents. Even if an agent from a competing office sells the property, the broker gets a percentage of the commission on the sale, all thanks to the efforts of the agent working in his office. This is network marketing.
Law firms don’t work the same way? The partners own the firm and hire junior partners, attorneys fresh out of law school, and paralegals to get new clients and also do a lot of the research and billable hours. They have expanded their income by expanding their strength and using network marketing.
Insurance agencies usually work the same way. They hire agents to market to prospects and sell those prospect insurance policies. The agent receives a commission, as does the broker or brokers who manage the agency. The more agents sell insurance, the more agency brokers earn. And to make it even better, each month when a customer pays their premium, brokers earn a residual commission and continue to do so year after year as long as the customer continues to renew their policy.
Some larger national insurance companies take this to an even larger network marketing scale. Take AFLAC for example, a household name in the insurance business. AFLAC has National Managers who hire Regional Managers across the country, and are paid based on sales volume levels in each region. To be successful, these regional managers hire many district managers to cover the markets in their region, and of course those district managers also get paid a percentage of the volume. How do District Managers do this? They go out and hire as many insurance agents as they can to go out and sell high volumes of insurance. The interesting thing about all this is that the commission percentages of the sales are filtered in the chain. Everyone gets paid for the efforts of those below them in the pyramid. And once again, when a client pays her premium each month, this income also becomes residual and continues as long as the client maintains their policy, which is usually for years. This is an almost perfect example of multilevel marketing.
Genworth Financial, one of the largest companies in the country, operates in much the same way, especially in its long-term care insurance division, as do most large life insurance companies. They are MLM models. Managers often do not receive salaries, but rather a large volume of commissions from the work of the managers and agents below them in what naive people call a “pyramid”.
There are a large number of prominent companies in many fields of business that have chosen to spread the word and sales of their products through the power of multiplying numbers with relationship marketing instead of millions of dollars in advertising. If you don’t understand how much of the big business operates these days, then don’t write it off. Those who understand the power of numbers to increase sales and create wealth. And they are creating long-term residual and passive income for themselves.
