I think almost everyone in the webmaster community understands the importance of writing articles and submit them to article directories. Writing good articles is equal to writing good content. Submitting to popular article directories equates to more relevant backlinks and better rankings. Therefore, writing unique and useful articles is a good way to improve your site’s ranking. But when you submit your articles to directories, your content is now on someone else’s site, not yours. Even though you get the backlinks, you lose the unique keyword rich content, unless you rewrite your own article and have it on your site.
Now let’s talk about relevant link exchanges. This is also another favorite technique to get backlinks. You pick someone whose site is related to yours and the two of you do a link exchange with each other. However, the problem here is that the page where your link is placed may be full of many other links. This will reduce the value of the link. And it is very likely that the page itself has very little content or information. Just links. Because of this, search engines have devalued link exchanges to the point where link exchanges may not be worth continuing. Of course, link exchanges don’t require much effort anyway.
Before I continue, I’ll have to explain a bit about Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI). Google has been using this method to find out what a page is about and has increased its importance. It uses the co-occurrence of keywords and best of all, it analyzes the content as a whole and sees what other content has the same words. Although not perfect, LSI seems to look at patterns and similarities to judge the theme of a page. For more information, visit LATENT SEMANTIC INDEXING by Aaron Wall.
And armed with this information, we will look for a better method to get content and backlinks: Item Trade Prayed Item Exchange. The idea is to write an article related to your site while your partner does the same. Then instead of submitting to article directories, you do a exchange of articles. His partner’s article will be displayed on his site and yours on yours. This way, you get unique keyword-rich content (from your article) and backlinks (from your article) as well.
The important step is to write an article with good keywords so that Google understands what your article is about and how”valued“backlink on your article is comparing both pages (source and destination). The added bonus is that you will have unique keyword-rich content on your site. Even if you can’t optimize your partner’s article for important keywords (since which is written by someone else), Google’s LSI will probably figure it out on its own.
Although from the looks of it, it is reciprocal, but unlike simple link exchanges, you have quality content on the pages with the links. Google doesn’t devalue a link simply because it’s a reciprocal link, they take into account whether the link is useful to the viewer (and whether the link is in the body content or on the page or footer, among other things) and related to the page, hence the importance of Relevance. A valuable link is a valuable link. The problem with many reciprocal links is that they do not provide any benefit to your viewers or search engines. These links only exist to manipulate rankings. Therefore, Google has probably devalued many of these links.
Although you will never beat submitting to article directories for the sheer amount of backlinks and exposure due to article syndication, Article Trading does have its advantages. You just have to weigh each one carefully and see what your priority is.
webwobot It has an interesting concept of business pages instead of just links or banners. It helps simplify the tedious item trading process by providing one interface for all transactions between you and your page trading partner.
