Rewarding your team for outstanding daily efforts, both in practice and during games, doesn’t need to stop with a generic trophy handed out identically to each player as you tour the school stage. This year they hand out awards that teammates will be proud to display, whether they be medals, trophies or plaques.
Here are some ideas for personalized awards:
The player most value
Rebound King / Queen
Most points scored
Sportsmanship. This is usually more important than skill on game day.
Best team player. This award is different from MVP because he is not necessarily the best player on the team in terms of statistics, but the only character who propels his team to perform better under pressure.
Anonymous hero. There are many players who may not be # 1, # 2 or even # 5, but whose personalities and actions really push the team forward. Honor them.
Most assists
Best defensive player
Coaches award. Coaches rarely go unnoticed for their hard work. While they do take care of practices, trainings, and awards for the players, you can thank them for everything.
Present your best performers, motivators, and hardest workers with medals, plaques, or trophies for their team additions. The best way to see who is doing what? Watch all the players closely during drill practice and keep track of who is playing not only better but also harder on game day. Trophies are not just for the winning players or the winning team, but for each person who helped make a difference.
