Sachin is a former Indian cricketer who has played cricket for the past 24 years in India. He was born on April 24, 1973 to Ramesh Tendulkar and Rajni. Ramesh Tendulkar named it after his favorite music director, Sachin Dev Burman. At the age of eleven (1984), his brother Ajit introduced the young Sachin to Ramakant Achrekar, a famous cricket coach.
In the 90’s team
Raj Singh Dungarpur, the chairman of the selection committee, had laid out his vision of the “90s squad”, starting with Mohammad Azharuddin as captain, including young players like Anil Kumble, Sanjeev Sharma and Sachin.
First international race
Tendulkar made his Test debut against Pakistan in Karachi in November 1989 at the age of 16 years and 205 days. At first he only made 15 runs. But he scored 215 runs at an average of 35.83 in that Test series. Thus, Sachin Tendulkar became the youngest player to make his debut for India in the Tests. Sachin then took part in the next series held in New Zealand. This series was followed by the tour of England.
Match at Old Trafford
In July 1990, the Indian team came to England. India lost their first match in this series. The second game was held at Old Trafford. The England batsmen were again in excellent form with a score of 519. It was Sachin’s ninth Test match and he scored a commendable 68 in the first innings.
India had to score 408 to win against a bowling attack featuring Devon Malcolm, Angus Fraser and Eddie Hemmings. When Sachin came to win, India was 109/4 with noted players like Sidhu (0), Shastri (12), Manjekar (50), Vengsarkar (32). After quickly losing Azharuddin and Kapil Dev, he was paired with Manoj Prabhakar.
At this stage, India were 183 for 6 with a time remaining of two and a half hours. He would occasionally walk down the floor to his partner to discuss it. She attacked the bowlers by lifting the balls lengthwise and causing them to lose their power. They hit a marvelous 160-run unbeaten partnership for the seventh wicket. He had 119 runs to his name and Manoj Prabhakar had 67 without outs. At last, India claimed a famous draw with a score of 343 for six, even defeat was looming. Thus, Tendulkar scored his first century on 14 August 1990, saving India from losing the match.
He is the only player to have scored a hundred international centuries and the first batsman to score a double century in a One Day International cricket. Although Sachin is at the top, he has a great attitude to respect everyone. He is the man to break the international batting record.
